About Me
Graduation Day With My Brother

In May 2007, I graduated from Mount Mercy College with a degree in secondary education. As a newly minted teacher, I am searching for a position in secondary education teaching World and American history. Other subjects I would be interested in teaching are Current Events, Government, and Geography. My experiences include practicums in middle and high school, working as a teacher associate, substitute teaching, and part-time teaching at the middle school level. Teaching is my second profession. Prior to returning to college to pursue my second bachelor’s degree, I worked in the historical museum profession for over eight years. Check out my link to the Amana Heritage Society’s webpage to learn about my former employer.
As a social studies teacher I understand coaching sports and co-curricular activities will be a part of my job. During my student teaching I assisted with student council activities. During the summer of 2007 I coached both t-ball and softball to build up my coaching experience. In the fall of 2007 I served as an assistant volleyball coach, my first paid coaching position.
